Texas ranked eighth among states in personal income growth for the second quarter, according to figures released Thursday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Personal income in Texas grew 1.47 percent in the second quarter from the first quarter of this year. That was higher than the 1.1 percent increase for the nation.
Texas’ total personal income — the sum of all residents’ earnings — was $1.01 trillion on a seasonally adjusted annualized basis in the second quarter. That was second highest in the country, behind California’s $1.68 trillion.
Nebraska posted the biggest increase, 2.3 percent. Washington state registered the smallest increase, just under 0.7 percent.
